News — Window display

The 2022 season has begun! It has been a busy spring on Mackinac Island. We unpacked many, many boxes of beautiful products and arranged things 'just so' for you to see on your visit. The shops were dusted, swept, and painted to prepare for opening day, which was Saturday, April 30th.  It wasn’t all work! Lunch breaks were extra long as we walked along the shore to watch the progress of the ice melting and visited our favorite flower beds to see the spring flowers pushing through the soil. Poppins closes at the end of October and re-opens in May. Even though the shop is closed we still want to look pretty for the winter months. The display will be up after the holidays so the theme is always winter as opposed to Christmas. This year we decided to be bold and bright! We hope this window will brighten the gloomiest of winter days. We created these colorful frames using colored paper and chicken wire, plaid trees from foam core cardboard and we made it snow with cotton balls on mono filament.
